i will be using photoshop cs2 for this tutorial.

1. first, pick the image you'd like to use. i'll be using the one above, taken from *yellow-stock's gallery.

2. duplicate your background layer and set it to screen at 16%.

3. now create a new raster layer, fill it with the colour #000852 and set it to lighten at 100%.

4. create another new laster layer and fill it with the colour #EFB0CF. set that layer to soft light at 100%.

5. duplicate your background and drag it to the top. set it to soft light at 100%.

6. go to layers > new adjustment layer > colour balance, now fill in the following:
shadows: -10, +44, +19
midtones: -70, -40, -10
highlights: -10, +5, -10

7. go to layers > new adjustment layer > curves and click anywhere on your grid. fill in the following:
input: 23
output: 20

8. for the last time, go to layers > new adjustment layer > hue/saturation and set saturation to +3.

9. create a new raster layer and fill it with the colour #2EB0CF. set that layer to overlay at 12%.

10. create another new raster layer and fill it with the colour #FEEF39 and set it to soft light at 15%.

11. duplicate your background layer and drag it to the top. set it to exclusion at 5%.

12. duplicate your background layer again, drag it to the top and set it to soft light at 28%.

13. create a new raster layer and fill it with the colour #1F1A55. set that layer to lighten at 30%.

14. go to layers > new adjustment layer > levels and fill this in:
input levels: 10, 1.00, 255
output levels: 0, 255

15. go to layers > new adjustment layer > brightness/contrast and fill this in:
brightness: +5
contrast: +5

now merge your layers and you're done! if you're image doesn't match the one above, play around with the settings until you're happy.
