i will be using photoshop cs2 for this tutorial.
1. go to layers > new adjustment layer > hue/saturation and fill this in:
hue: 0
saturation: -100
lightness: 0
2. go to layers > new adjustment layer > hue/saturation again and fill this in:
hue: 0
saturation: 0
lightness: +30
3. go to layers > new adjustment layer > selective colour, check 'relative' at the bottom and fill this in:
blacks: -42, 0, 0, +71
4. go to layers > new adjustment layer > colour balance and fill this in:
shadows: +9, -5, -4
5. go to layers > new adjustment layer > hue/saturation one last time and fill this in:
hue: 0
saturation: -22
lightness: 0
6. go to layers > new adjustment layer > curves, select 'red' from the drop down list and fill this in:
point 1: 60, 73
point 2: 174, 178
7. duplicate the background layer and drag it to the top. set it to soft light at 100%.
8. duplicate the background layer again, and drag it to the top. set it to 50% as it is.
now merge the layers and you're done!
